Dan Davis

Our February 11, 2025 speaker will be Dan Davis Mayor, City of Manvel. Dan was elected as Manvel’s youngest ever Councilmember where he served from 2019 to 2022. In 2023, Dan was elected as Mayor with 64% of the vote and became one of the youngest Mayors in America. Prior to becoming Mayor, Dan and his wife Erica were missionaries in Japan which helped teach Dan that it is important to see things from other people’s perspectives. Dan prides himself on getting in the weeds of policy and legislation. Since getting elected as Mayor, Manvel City Council has successfully renegotiated development agreements to better serve the people of Manvel, cut red tape that hindered economic growth, secured the first grocery store for Manvel – HEB, saved tax payers money, and re-wrote the city’s financial policy which has allowed Manvel to increase its fund balance by over $4 million. Most importantly, the culture at City Hall has changed, and the city government has become a government that is of the people, by the people, for the people. When he has free time, he often volunteers with local organizations, enjoys time with family, trains for marathons, and eats cookie dough. Dan earned his bachelor’s degree, with Honors from Oral Roberts University and serves on the Board of Actions, Inc, Republican Mayors Association, and the Houston Galveston Area Council. Dan belongs to community organizations such as the Alvin Sunrise Rotary Club, the Alvin-Manvel Chamber of Commerce, and the American Cities Counties Exchange. He is also an Alvin ISD YET Mentor. Hear from him on Feb. 11! Call/text RSVP 281-455-0646, Frances Morrell by Thursday Feb 6 at 5 p.m.
